Snow and Ice Removal
Posted on Feb 4th, 2015

As a standard for associations throughout our area, the Association has a snowfall contract that calls for snow to be plowed when snowfall meets or exceeds 2 inches. Due to the limited available space, the snow plow contractor must at times push the snow into the on-site parking spaces from the driveways. There is no other feasible area to put the snow.

Our contract states that the snowfall contractor shall remove snow from all streets, driveways, sidewalks, parking areas, mailbox areas . Following an overnight snowfall, the snow will be cleared from areas on the basis of two inches of snowfall on-site no later than 7:00 am or within two hours after a two inch accumulation occurs.   Deicing compounds are not commonly used.

One of the main priorities of the snow plow contractor is to first clear the streets. This is in event that safety and/or emergency vehicles have to access the streets.  Vehicles parked in the driveway may result in the driveway not being plowed. Likewise, vehicles parked in a mailbox areas will result in those areas not been plowed resulting in an inconvenience for all residents.

These specifications will address most, but not all, winter conditions and hazards. The Association does not guarantee or promise protection against such hazards.  Your care and attention to the conditions that exist is, therefore, necessary to ensure your safety while on the property.
